Samsung's new 34-inch curved monitor is for gamers

Samsung really wants you to have one of its curved gaming monitors. This week the company introduced two new monitors: the CFG70, which comes in a 24-inch and 27-inch model; and the 34-inch CF791 display. They’re both being unveiled at IFA this week. Both monitors use Samsung’s Quantum dot technology to increase color clarity and energy efficiency. Up until now, those nanocrystals were only used in Samsung’s TVs.
Here’s what we know about the CF791: it has a 1500R curvature, a 100Hz refresh rate that works with AMD FreeSync, and has a 21:9 aspect ratio. As for the CFG70, it comes with a 1800R curvature, LED lighting that interacts with sound, and a 144Hz refresh rate. Samsung says the CF791 is the most curved gaming monitor currently available. While a 34-inch 21:9 display will probably look awesome, it's worth noting that not all games support the super wide aspect ratio.
These two models join three others that Samsung introduced at CES this year. It then continued to market the displays in a partnership with EA. We don't have pricing on the new monitors. Samsung really wants you to have one of its curved gaming monitors.
