Armand Duplantis Sets New Pole Vault Record at Paris Olympics

Paris, Saint-Denis — At his last try, Armand "Mondo" Duplantis broke his own world record by vaulting a height of 6.25 meters (20 feet 6 inches), captivating the Stade de France. With this accomplishment, he set his eighth world record and cemented his reputation as a remarkable pole vaulter.

After breaking the record for the first time in February 2020, Duplantis has revolutionized the sport. He experienced difficulty in his early tries, but with the help of his father and coach, Greg, he strategically adjusted. The crowd erupted in excitement when he reached a new height, proving that the tweak had paid off.

With a 5.95-meter clearing, American Sam Kendricks won silver and reflected on his previous victories and setbacks. Duplantis continued to be the night's best performer in spite of tough competition, receiving praise from both family and fans.

Duplantis's feat of pole vaulting was topped off by a moment spent with Swedish royalty and intentions to continue celebrating with family, signifying a night of both personal and sporting success.

Duplantis is enjoying his most recent record and looking forward to challenges with unrelenting dedication, as he continues to push limits and inspire.
